The question we get weekly

It is not on High Street

It is on Miro Street, in the Tauhara block, behind a roller door and a gravel apron. The name is older than the address and we are not repainting it.

What matters more is that the floor is flat, the gate is wide, and a low car gets in and out without touching anything on the way.

Before you turn up

On site: Two hoists, a pit for trailer work, and a gravel apron with room to swing a boat trailer round
Drop-off: From when the roller door goes up. Keys through the slot if you are earlier than us
Parking: Off the street, inside the gate — you are not leaving a car on Miro Street
Waiting: There is a chair and a kettle. It is a workshop, not a lounge
Payment: Card or bank transfer on collection

Asked on the phone, most weeks

Will you ring me before you do anything?: Yes. Nothing beyond what you booked gets touched without a phone call. If we cannot reach you, the car waits.
What happens if it fails its WOF?: You get told what failed and what it needs, and you decide. You are not obliged to have the repair done here.
Can you look at the trailer at the same time?: Bring it. Tow vehicle and trailer together is how we would rather see them anyway, because half the faults are in how the two talk to each other.
I am just passing through on SH1 and something is wrong.: Ring rather than book online. We will tell you honestly whether we can get to it today or whether you are better carrying on.
Do I need to be there?: No. Drop it off, tell us the best number, and we will ring you when we know something.
Can I have the old parts?: Ask when you book and we will keep them in the box for you to look at.
